Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S26 FE, bringing several flagship-inspired features to its latest Fan Edition smartphone. The Galaxy S26 FE is the first device in the Galaxy S26 family to launch with One UI 9, and Samsung is placing a strong focus on camera improvements, Galaxy AI, display quality and long-term software support.
The new smartphone combines a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, Exynos 2500 processor, triple rear camera setup, 4,900mAh battery and 45W wired charging in a relatively slim 7.4mm body.
Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Display
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
Samsung says the display can reach up to 1,900 nits of brightness, making it suitable for outdoor viewing as well as streaming, gaming, browsing and everyday use.
The 120Hz refresh rate should also provide smoother scrolling and animations compared with standard 60Hz displays.
Exynos 2500 Processor
Powering the Galaxy S26 FE is Samsung's Exynos 2500 processor, manufactured using a 3nm process.
The phone comes with 8GB of RAM, while storage options include:
- 128GB
- 256GB
- 512GB
Storage availability can vary depending on the market and carrier.
Triple Rear Camera With 3x Optical Zoom
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S26 FE with a triple-camera system.
The rear camera setup includes:
- 50MP wide camera with OIS and f/1.8 aperture
- 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree field of view
- 8MP telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom
- 12MP front camera
The dedicated telephoto camera provides 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital zoom.
Samsung is also bringing improved image processing and Nightography capabilities to the phone, helping users capture photos in challenging lighting conditions.
My FanCam Makes Video Recording Smarter
One of the notable camera features on the Galaxy S26 FE is My FanCam.
The feature can automatically track a selected person while recording video and keep that person centred in the frame. It can intelligently reframe the video as the subject moves.
This could be particularly useful when recording sports, performances, family events or social-media content.
The phone also supports Super Steady with Horizontal Lock, which is designed to produce smoother and more level video when recording while moving.
Galaxy AI and One UI 9
The Galaxy S26 FE is the first phone in the Galaxy S26 lineup to launch with One UI 9.
Samsung has introduced several Galaxy AI improvements designed to make everyday tasks more convenient.
Updated Now Brief
The updated Now Brief provides more personalized information through customizable briefing cards. Users can also create their own cards using simple prompts.
Now Nudge
Now Nudge has been expanded to selected third-party apps and notifications. It can provide relevant suggestions based on what the user is doing.
Circle to Search
Samsung has also improved Circle to Search with Google. Users can search for multiple items within a single image, making it easier to identify products, objects, places and other information.
AI-Powered Photo Editing
Samsung's Photo Assist allows users to edit images using natural-language prompts.
Users can make changes such as modifying the scene, adding elements or restoring missing parts of an image.
The editing process can also be reviewed step by step, allowing users to revise or undo changes.
The Galaxy S26 FE also supports Gemini Omni for creating and editing video clips using photos and videos from the Gallery.
Eligible users will receive a six-month Google AI Pro trial, which includes expanded AI capabilities and 5TB of cloud storage.
4,900mAh Battery With 45W Charging
The Galaxy S26 FE packs a 4,900mAh battery.
Samsung says the phone can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes when using a compatible 45W adapter.
The device also supports:
- 45W wired charging
- 15W wireless charging
- Wireless PowerShare
The 45W power adapter is sold separately.
Slim Design and IP68 Rating
Despite having a large display and 4,900mAh battery, the Galaxy S26 FE measures only 7.4mm thick.
The phone measures 161.6 x 76.9 x 7.4mm and weighs approximately 193 grams.
Samsung has also given the phone an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The Galaxy S26 FE will be available in three colours:
- Blueberry
- Graphite
- Pistachio
Colour availability may vary by market and carrier.
Seven Years of Software Updates
One of the biggest advantages of the Galaxy S26 FE is its long-term software support.
Samsung promises up to seven generations of Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date.
The phone launches with Android 17 and One UI 9.
This long support period could make the Galaxy S26 FE an attractive option for users who plan to keep their smartphone for several years.
