Four new smartphones are set to launch next week, including the Redmi 17 5G, POCO X8 Power, Infinix Hot 70 Pro and Vivo V80 Lite. Here’s what to expect from each phone.

New Smartphones Launching Next Week in India: Redmi 17 5G, POCO X8 Power, Infinix Hot 70 Pro and Vivo V80 Lite

September is already starting to look like a busy month for smartphone buyers. Several new phones are scheduled to arrive in the first week of September, bringing bigger batteries, high-refresh-rate displays and new processors to different price segments.

For Indian buyers, the most interesting launches include the Redmi 17 5G, POCO X8 Power and Infinix Hot 70 Pro. Vivo is also preparing to introduce the Vivo V80 Lite in Malaysia, although an India launch has not yet been confirmed.

Here is what we currently know about the upcoming smartphones and why they could matter.

1. Redmi 17 5G – September 3

The Redmi 17 5G is one of the most important launches for Indian budget-phone buyers next week. Xiaomi is expected to officially introduce the smartphone in India on September 3.

The biggest talking point is its battery. The Redmi 17 5G is confirmed to feature a huge 7,900mAh battery, which is considerably larger than what we normally see in mainstream budget smartphones.

Redmi 17 5G expected highlights

  • 144Hz display
  • Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor
  • 50MP rear camera
  • 7,900mAh battery
  • 22.5W reverse wired charging

The phone is expected to use a flat-frame design with a rounded-square camera module. Xiaomi has also shown the device in colours including Eternal Orange, Endless Blue and Absolute Black.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 is another interesting part of the package. If the final pricing is aggressive, the Redmi 17 5G could become one of the phones to watch in the affordable 5G segment.

MobileIndya Take: The Redmi 17 5G looks particularly interesting for users who prioritise battery life and everyday performance over flagship-level cameras.

2. POCO X8 Power – September 4

If the Redmi 17 5G is targeting budget buyers, the POCO X8 Power appears to be aiming higher.

The smartphone is expected to launch on September 4 and its headline specification is once again the battery. POCO is reportedly preparing the phone with a massive 10,000mAh battery.

Even more interesting is the reported 100W wired charging, which could make the large battery considerably easier to live with.

POCO X8 Power expected highlights

  • 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor
  • 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera
  • 8MP ultrawide camera
  • 32MP front camera
  • 10,000mAh battery
  • 100W charging

The phone could also feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Reports suggest that POCO may offer up to four Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, while IP68 and IP69 protection could add another advantage.

The expected Indian price is around ₹35,000, although the company has not yet confirmed the final pricing.

MobileIndya Take: The POCO X8 Power could be one of the most interesting phones of the week if POCO manages to combine its 10,000mAh battery with strong performance and competitive pricing.

3. Infinix Hot 70 Pro – September 4

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro will also make its Indian debut on September 4. Unlike the Redmi and POCO phones, Infinix appears to be focusing more on a combination of design, display and everyday features.

The Indian version is confirmed to feature a 6.76-inch Full HD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone is also expected to have a relatively slim 7.85mm body.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro expected highlights

  • 6.76-inch Full HD+ display
  • 144Hz refresh rate
  • MediaTek Dimensity 7100
  • Up to 8GB RAM
  • Up to 256GB storage
  • 50MP rear camera
  • 8MP selfie camera
  • Up to 6,000mAh battery
  • 45W fast charging

Another feature that could help the Hot 70 Pro stand out is the Active Matrix Cube rear lighting system. The phone will be sold through Flipkart in India.

Some specifications are based on the global model and may differ on the Indian version, so buyers should wait for Infinix's official announcement before making a decision.

MobileIndya Take: The Hot 70 Pro could be a strong option for buyers who want a high-refresh-rate screen and stylish design without moving into the expensive mid-range segment.

4. Vivo V80 Lite – September 3

The Vivo V80 Lite is another phone arriving next week, but there is an important difference for Indian buyers: its September 3 launch is currently confirmed for Malaysia, not India.

Vivo is putting a major focus on battery capacity with this model. The global version is expected to feature a huge 10,000mAh battery, making it one of the biggest battery phones in the company's V-series.

Vivo V80 Lite expected highlights

  • 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 50MP main camera
  • 8MP ultrawide camera
  • 32MP front camera
  • 10,000mAh battery
  • IP68/IP69 protection
  • Stereo speakers

The device is expected to use a silicon-carbon battery, which could allow Vivo to offer a large battery without making the phone excessively thick.

Interestingly, the V80 Lite already has a different version in Pakistan with a 7,050mAh battery, so specifications can vary between markets.

MobileIndya Take: The 10,000mAh global version is the more interesting one. However, Indian buyers should not assume that the same model will launch in India until Vivo confirms it.

Which upcoming phone looks the most interesting?

The first week of September could be particularly interesting because these phones are approaching the market with very different priorities.

Smartphone Launch Main Highlight
Redmi 17 5G September 3 7,900mAh battery + Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
Vivo V80 Lite September 3 10,000mAh battery + AMOLED display
POCO X8 Power September 4 10,000mAh battery + 100W charging
Infinix Hot 70 Pro September 4 144Hz display + slim design

MobileIndya Verdict

The first week of September is shaping up to be an interesting one for smartphone buyers.

Redmi 17 5G could attract budget buyers with its 7,900mAh battery and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor. The POCO X8 Power appears to be the more performance-oriented option, with a 10,000mAh battery and reportedly 100W charging.

Meanwhile, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro could appeal to users who care more about display quality, design and everyday features. The Vivo V80 Lite is perhaps the most interesting battery-focused phone on paper, although its availability in India remains uncertain.

Ultimately, pricing will decide how competitive these smartphones become in India. With several manufacturers now pushing extremely large batteries, September could mark another step in the shift toward longer-lasting smartphones.

Note: Specifications and pricing marked as expected or reported are not final unless officially confirmed by the respective brands. MobileIndya will update this article when additional official details become available.
